Latest changelog: Version 8.70 adds the Early Bird Bonus Gift Pack, the first stage of King Kai/Gero rebirth gates, the Red Ribbon Muscle Tower map northwest of Earth, Chronoa quest content, race tokens, new beam mastery combat systems, Energy Barrier, Hermit Dive, melee target improvements, tower EXP buffs, and a large bug-fix pass.

New player note: the Early Bird Bonus Gift Pack is claimable at login during the first 6 hours of wipe.

🐉 What is DBA?

Dragon Ball Asylum is a competitive multiplayer RPG where you create a fighter, pick a race, and grind your way from Level 1 all the way to Champion rank. The game revolves around a wipe cycle - each wipe lasts roughly 3 months. During that time, everyone starts fresh and races to the top. At the end of each wipe, a special tournament is held with real cash prizes, in-game rewards for the next wipe, and a permanent statue in the Hall of Fame.

Along the way, you'll be training stats, unlocking transformations, completing quest medals, joining guilds, farming mobs, entering events, and competing in PvP. There's a lot to take in - that's what this wiki is for. Use the sidebar tabs to explore each system in detail.

🌍 What You'll Encounter

DBA has a lot of systems working together. Here's the short version of what you'll run into as you play:

Training & Stats - You have core stats like Powerlevel, Ki, Strength, Defense, and Stamina. You raise them through training methods like Self Train, Shadow Spar, Meditation, and spending Training Points. Higher gravity rooms give better gains.

Rebirths - The progression system. You'll rebirth multiple times (0/3 through 6/3), each time resetting your level but keeping certain progress. Each rebirth unlocks new content, higher level caps, and stronger gear. The Road to End of Wipe tab walks you through every rebirth step by step.

Races & Transformations - You choose a race during character creation. Each race has its own transformation tree with unique forms. Later on, you'll unlock universal forms, Ultra transformations, and even Dual Genes.

Currencies - There are several: Zenni, ZP, Training Points, EK, Ultra Points, Casino Tokens, and more. Each one has specific uses and exchange rates. ZP is especially important - it's used for level caps, gear, and major progression milestones.

Events & PvP - Sagas, Mayhem, tournaments, Capture the Flag, Mystical Cavern, Conquest, RBA, and more. Events are where you earn big rewards and test your build against other players.

Quest Medals & Ranks - There are 53 Quest Medals earned from NPCs across the map. You need a certain number of medals to break past level caps. Your rank (Easy → Champion) is tied to your level and medal count.

Guilds - Team up with other players. Guilds have their own houses, upgradeable facilities, evolution paths, and guild-specific quests and events.

Early Bird Bonus Gift Pack: during the first 6 hours of wipe, log in and claim the new Early Bird Bonus Gift Pack. This is time-limited per wipe window, so grab it before focusing on early medals and leveling.

Download BYOND & Join the Game

DBA runs on BYOND. Download the client, create an account, and then join the game through the DBA Hub Page. When you connect, you'll see options to create a new save, load an existing one, or delete. Hit New to get started.

Create Your Character

The game will walk you through character creation. You'll pick your race using a visual selector, customize your appearance, and name your character. Take your time here - your race determines your transformation tree for the entire wipe. Check the Race & Transformations tab if you want to plan ahead.

Get Your Bearings

You'll spawn inside the Main Spawn House, right in front of Yamcha. Before doing anything else, take a minute to move around using Arrow Keys or Numpad. Get familiar with the chat boxes (OOC, Local, Universe), your stat panels, and the general layout of the interface.

Talk to Yamcha

Yamcha is your first NPC. He'll give you a quest to reach Level 500 - just use the Self Train verb to start gaining levels. Once you hit 500, you become a Permanent Combatant — meaning you can now leave Main Spawn and fight. Turn in the quest when done. Then ask Yamcha about learning to teleport to unlock Instant Transmission, which lets you move around the map fast.

Follow the Game Loop

From here, your goal is to keep leveling, earn Quest Medals, explore the map, and work toward your first Rebirth. Head to the Road to End of Wipe tab for the full step-by-step guide from 0/3 all the way to Champion.

⚡ Things Every New Player Should Know

⚠️ Read the Rules. There are 23 of them, and Rule 23 is the Common Sense Rule - loopholes are punishable. Check the Rules tab before you get too deep. It takes 2 minutes and saves you a lot of headaches.

💡 Save your special currencies. ZP, EK, Ultra Points, and Training Points are all valuable. Don't spend them randomly early on - you'll need them for level caps, gear, and major progression milestones later. The Economy tab explains what everything is worth.

💡 The game is free to play. Most players never spend a dime. If you want to support the game and grab some bonus perks, check the Pay to Win tab - but everything is balanced in-game and nothing is required to compete.

TIP Stay level headed and have fun. DBA is competitive, but it's also a community. Use the Ignore system if chat gets rough, join a guild, ask questions on Discord, and enjoy the grind.

💡 Ignore System available in Channels tab: add, remove, and view ignored players. Removes them from OOC, Local, and Universe chats. Use this to avoid toxic behavior and keep your chat experience clean!

Arrow Keys: Left=West | Up=North | Right=East | Down=South. Combine 2 for diagonals.

Macro Setup

Commands (top-left) → Set Macros. Multi-word: use hyphen → ki-blast
.click z-sword = equip/unequip without inventory · .click gi\nhide gi = equip + hide in one key

Skill Bar & Skillcards

Techniques use the Skill Bar and Skillcard GUI. Skillcards appear at the bottom of your screen. You'll also find the Event, Gear, Radar, and Map buttons here.

Event: Join or leave any currently active event. · Gear: Coming Soon. · Radar: Opens the Dragon Ball radar for your current planet (if balls are active). · Map: Pulls up a minimap of the planet you're on (if available).

Assign: Click an empty slot → select technique · Remove: Click an occupied slot → Remove · Use: Press 1–9 for the corresponding slot · Target: Spacebar · Untarget: U

Keys 1–9, Spacebar, and U are hard-coded. Delete any macros bound to these keys to avoid conflicts.

Target / Spacebar Interactions

NPC talk: Target/Spacebar can talk to any NPC by pressing Spacebar while directly next to them.
King Kai quest: Target/Spacebar works with Bubbles and Gregory.
NPC targeting range: Reduced to within 3 tiles to prevent unwanted NPC targeting from far away.
Target icon: Icon height reduced.

📊 Stats & Abilities

Core Stats

Powerlevel (PL): Your health — reaches 0 = KO/killed. Also controls the max amount of Ki, Ki Defense, Strength, and Defense you can have. You need to train Powerlevel to increase the cap on your other stats
Ki: Strength of ki attacks
Ki Defense: Defence vs. ki attacks
Strength: Strength of melee attacks
Defense: Defence vs. melee attacks
Fatigue (Stamina): How long you can train. Depletes during training and gym equipment use. Restore with treadmills

Abilities (talk to Hercule | cap: 75%)

Block: Chance to block melee attacks
Counter: Chance to counter melee attacks
Critical: Chance to score a critical hit
Dodge: Chance to dodge ki attacks
Reflect: Chance to reflect ki attacks

Other Stats

Level: Your current level. Raise it through training, mobbing, and events
EXP (Experience): Points earned from training, mobbing, and events. Accumulate enough EXP to level up
TNL (Till Next Level): The amount of EXP required to reach your next level. Every time you level up, your TNL increases, making each subsequent level harder to reach. TNL Cuts (purchased with ZP) reduce this number, speeding up progression
True Level (TL): Total levels accumulated during your current rebirth. Used as a flag for certain unlocks and as a currency for mechanics like Dual Gene (10.5m TL) and Ultra Points (1m TL = 1 UP)
Age: How old your character is. One hour of real time = 1 month, 12 months = 1 year
Universe: Which of the 4 Universes you belong to. Works like a party - the G.o.D title holder is the leader of that Universe
Karma: Determines whether you are playing Good or Evil. Updates on kills and meditating. Required for certain NPC boosts (Guru = 25% Good, Babidi = 100% Evil)

🎯 Classes

Change at Z Agent (Level 100,000) or any level at Rebirth 4/3 or 5/3 for 25 ZP. Also changeable via Candy Broker NPC for Candy.

Mystic: Ki builds — higher Ki gains per level
Aggressor: STR builds — higher STR gains per level
Guardian: Tank builds — higher DEF gains per level
Velocitor: +5% EXP while mobbing + increased EXP while training ⭐ Best for new players

🏋️ Training Methods

🏁 Road to End of Wipe

⚠️ Before EVERY Rebirth - follow these rules:
1. Complete all Z-Point Quests to avoid having to grind for them later.
2. Leave your Guild or Transfer Ownership.
3. Unequip and store all your items in a Locker above Yamcha and Bank your Zenni.
4. Use as many Dragon Ball Wishes as possible (wishes reset per rebirth — use them or lose them).

💡 What resets on Rebirth: Your Level, all core stats (PL, Ki, Ki Defense, STR, DEF, Stamina), Training Points, and your in-game Skill Stat Panel (except currencies and Super Dragon Ball wish counter). Plan accordingly!

v8.70 Rebirth Gate: King Kai and Dr. Gero now have stat-based and boss-defeat Quest/Trial gates for each of the first three rebirths. Players may need to boost, spend TPs, or stat train before qualifying. 5/3 has not been removed, but the change is meant to add earlier progression longevity. Beerus 6/3 rebirth remains locked until its quest date is announced.

Yamcha's Quest

Talk to Yamcha and start his quest. You need to reach Level 500 - just use the Self Train verb. Turn in the quest when done.

Train to ~2,000

Continue training to around Level 2,000. By now you should have become a Permanent Combatant (at Level 500) and unlocked a ton of the main techniques.

Unlock Instant Transmission

Ask Yamcha about learning to Teleport. Complete his task to unlock Instant Transmission.

Explore & Experiment

You can now experiment with Mobs on the Overworld, Mob Towers, and Events to gain EXP and learn the map.

Earn 7 Quest Medals

Your next focus is earning a total of 7 Quest Medals so you can reach the 50k level cap. Easiest medals: King Kai Kaioken, Bulma Spanner, Saiyaman Helmet, Master Roshi Kamehameha, Yamcha 1, Oolong 1, and Yamcha 4.

Buy Gear

Buy some Ultra Weights and Basic Shards. They will help multiply your gains significantly.

ZP Quests

Look into completing ZP Quests before rebirthing. These quests reward Z-Points which are critical for level caps later. Check the Ranks & Quest Medals tab for which quests reward ZP.

Upon reaching Level 50,000, follow the Rebirth Rules above and speak to King Kai or Dr. Gero. In v8.70, expect a required rebirth Quest/Trial that checks whether your stats and boss progress are strong enough. Congrats, you are now 1/3!

Repeat the 0/3 Loop

Start by repeating everything you did for the previous rebirth. You have faster level and stat gains now, so you should be able to finish more quest medals this time.

Before Rebirthing: Whis Quests

Complete Whis' Quest for new weights - these are way better. For his 2nd quest (faster movement), the recommended method is: talk to Zeno, use the "show me your powers" option, and run through towers that way. It's a bit faster.

Follow the Rebirth Rules and speak to King Kai or Dr. Gero at Level 75,000. In v8.70, complete the rebirth Quest/Trial first; stat training, TP spending, or a boost may be required. Congrats, you are now 2/3!

Try completing every Quest Medal and research all the maps. By now you should have accumulated a ton of special currencies, and you can freely spend almost all of them at Level 100k. Some new areas have unlocked.

Buy Large Shards from Z Agent. These are unbreakable and have a better multiplier.

Rebirth to 3/3

Follow the Rebirth Rules and speak to King Kai or Dr. Gero at Level 100,000. In v8.70, the third early rebirth gate also requires its Quest/Trial completion before you can advance. Congrats, you are now 3/3!

Welcome to Boosting

In order to defeat an SR Portal boss, you need to reach a certain amount of stats first. It's recommended to wait out boosting until you have 150 Million in each of the 5 stats (without transforming).

What is Boosting? There are a set of NPC Stat Boost NPCs located throughout the game that will multiply your stats once per rebirth. Each NPC has different requirements and multipliers. See the full chart in the Boosts tab. Since boosts are one-time per rebirth, make sure your stats are as high as possible before using them!

Raise Your Stats

To raise your stats: kill Mobs with Stat Candies, use Gym Equipment, spend Training Points, and earn passive increases from certain events. Check out the Clubhouse for a special room full of fast-spawning frogs for easier stat candy training.

Boost & Choose Your SR Portal

Once at 150M stats, use all the boosts you can. Your next goal is to search for which SR Portal you need to complete. This is the SR race you are going to rebirth into, so choose wisely.

Defeat the SR Portal Mob Boss. Before talking to the NPC to rebirth, follow the Rebirth Rules, then speak to them. Congrats, you are now 4/3 as a Super Race!

Wait to Boost

You need to wait to boost until you have around 8 Billion base stats. This is because Beerus' Trials are very hard.

Sell Levels for ZP

Once you've hit 500k, you can start selling levels for ZP. Beerus only cares that you have reached 500k True Level to start the trials.

Get Hakai

You will need Hakai if you haven't already purchased it.

Boost & Prep for Trials

At 8B base stats, boost and prep for Beerus' Trials (Instruction, Endurance, Growth).

Rebirth to 6/3

Complete the 3 trials to rebirth. Don't forget your Rebirth Rules! Grants a +30% EXP boost and a choice of path: TPs, Gym, or Mob Farming. See the Rebirth System section below for details.

6th Rebirth / Beerus Paths

Quest from NPC Beerus. Complete 3 trials: Instruction, Endurance (survive Sentinel waves), Growth. Grants +30% EXP boost. Cannot change path without rerolling via Beerus again.

These have dominated for a long time. Gogeta/Vegito sit at the top together. Gogeta is better for PvP, Vegito more popular due to STR-based mobbing. Omega: best semi-perm in the game. Broly Black: does everything Broly does + Kai perks + Android techs. Granolah: very strong techs, kit too good to ignore.

Android 21, Broly, Gohan, Jiren
A21: massive multi, access to all Android techs. Broly: Wrathful Spirit (2x all stats) extremely valuable; Blaster Shell+BBA in 2-tile PvP. Gohan: Z-Sword buffs + BBA + Saiyan techs; above Broly for Z-Sword. Jiren: highest-damage homing in game, powerful AoE, extremely Ki-focused.

Red Eyed Namekian, Fu, Cauliflower Saiba, Super 17
Strong and viable choices. Red Eyed has extremely high multis (after S tier consideration). Fu (similar multis to Bojack but better with Stone Spit + Time Skip). Super 17 benefits heavily from being Android with access to all Android techs.

Bojack, Herculean, Cooler
Solid but nothing special. Bojack: top of B due to stun + Stone Spit (homing). Herculean + Cooler: one is Ki-scaled, other is STR-scaled; pair that amplifies race techs.

Yadrat Trapper, Beerus, Champa, Orange Piccolo, Garlic, Gotenks
Just okay. No special tech that sets them apart. Missing special techs that could rank them higher.

Any ZR Race; anything that is a full perm or has a permanent last trans
Full perms are annoying to mob with since there's no way to reliably regenerate PL once it's lost. The only real options are healing items.

HIT

Hit: Worst unit in the game. PvP race with multis that fall off very quickly. Needs a massive overhaul to be viable.

💡 These techniques can be learned by talking to specific NPCs around the world. Learn them and use them in combat to discover more about how they work!

v8.70 combat updates: Punch/Melee now auto-targets players after the first successful punch, auto-targets NPC mobs after the second successful punch, and turns the user toward their current target. Flying Kick is unbanned in skill-based matches, but its cooldown increased by 2 seconds. Wormhole is enabled in normal tournaments. Dash cooldown was reduced. Konat Quad Barrage and Sword attacks no longer drain Ki because they are STR-based melee attacks.

💀 Hakai

Hakai obliterates the target and sends them to jail for 30 minutes. Used to pause another player's progression. Has a 1 day cooldown. The jailed player cannot log out while the timer is active, or the timer resets.

📖 Sagas

Sagas spawn mobs across the world in timeline order through the anime story arcs. There are two sides: Evil and Good. Sagas auto-run after one completes.

Difficulty Levels: Easy, Medium, Hard, Extreme, Insane, Godly. Higher difficulty = stronger mob stats, better EXP, and smarter AI
Change difficulty at Yamcha or the Mall Mascot
Some saga mobs are stronger than normal and have quests attached. Keep an eye out and circle back to complete them!

🏴 Capture the Flag (CTF)

4 players minimum, 6 max (speak to Mall Mascot to increase the next CTF's size). Players are assigned to 2 teams. The objective is simple: capture the enemy team's flag 3 times and bring it back to your flag's spawn point. While holding a flag, you have reduced attack and movement speed. Rewards Levels and ZP for winning and losing.

🌿 Conquest

Universe-based event. Players sign up to capture and defend Banners across 4 Planets for their Universe. 10 minutes long. Warp via Channels tab. Buffs last until next Conquest.

💡 Use a TNL Cut first, and stack any other buffs you're currently allowed during this time for max EXP gains!

🚩 Mayhem

Guild-based event. 10 flags are spread across the map. Your goal is to capture as many as you can for your guild. Ki blasts can be used to attack, with special attacks available from time to time. Once the event is over, guilds with flags will get 10 bonuses over time based on what flags they captured.

Each ladder = random point in maze; 10% chance to reach Crystal Room
Crystal Room: need 30b base stats to kill Golden Frieza → drops Cavern Pill (50% drop chance; 30 min duration; hold only 1 at a time; 6× stat increase while leveling)
TIP: Bring up to 10 Crocodile Meats from Roshi's Training Island for full heals inside

⚔️ Ranked Battle Arena (RBA)

Admin-hosted. Join via Channels tab → Ranked Battle Arena verb. Matched 1v1 against another player. King of the Hill style.

🥊 Tournaments

v8.70 tournament/combat changes: Wormhole is enabled in normal tournaments. Flying Kick is unbanned in skill-based matches, with a 2 second cooldown increase. BBA-style tech one-shots in skill-based matches were fixed.

Tournaments are either "All at Once" or bracket-based matches with whoever else signs up. You can be teamed up with your Guild, Universe, random teams, or go solo. Rewards vary by type of tournament.

Tournament of Power: Your stats are balanced and set for this event. Defeat all opponents from the other 3 rival Universes. Last Universe standing wins!

🌀 Grand Maze

Players sign up for a loot bag hunt, followed by forced PvP once 4 players remain. Loot bags can contain tons of different things. Player kills drop better loot bags.

🏛️ Pillars

Universe members sign up to protect their pillar and destroy other universe towers. Your stats are balanced and set for this event. Unlimited respawns until your tower is destroyed.

Lower reward: +1,500 levels, +50 ZP, +100 Universe Points.

🗼 Red Ribbon Battle Tower

Your stats are balanced and set for this event. Collect both the Red Star and Blue Star Dragon Balls, then enter the Red Ribbon Tower. Killing players will drop them. Exit the Forest of Chaos to win.

Loser reward: +750 levels and 1 PVP Token.

👑 Kill The King

Your stats are balanced and set for this event. Kill the opposing team's King while protecting yours at the same time. Play strategically!

Loser reward: +Levels, +Zenni, +1 PVP Token. Winner reward: +Levels, +Zenni, +3 PVP Tokens.

⚔️ Team Deathmatch

2 teams, first to 20 kills wins.

⚠️ Rule 21 reminder: Players are NOT permitted to use their alts if they have been Jailed or Hakai'd. This counts as avoiding.

⚠️ Rule 16: Players are responsible for staying updated with rule changes. Ignorance of updated rules is NOT an excuse. Rule 23 is the Common Sense Rule. Loopholes are punishable.

📋 DB Asylum In-Game Rules

01Respect fellow players and all administrators.
02Spamming is not acceptable.
03No spam killing. Do not intentionally kill the same player (or their alts, including your own) 3 or more times within one hour. This does not apply in competitive zones (areas with mobs or a PvP warning on entry).
04Do not advertise/spam this, or other games, BYOND or otherwise.
05Do not use programs to assist Shadow Sparring, Focus Med Training, Mobbing, or any other form of training. This includes inside the casino as well!
06Keep caps (shift/uppercase letters) to a minimum. Excessive caps will result in an automatic mute!
07Do not link any form of adult websites in OOC or Local Chat.
08Adjusting font sizes is forbidden.
09Do not use/abuse any glitches or bugs. (Rewards are given for reporting bugs, or punishment for those who abuse them!)
10Do not disrupt events or matches. Do not interfere with arena challenges, tournaments, or player-run events. This includes blocking entrances/exits or camping mobbing zones (e.g., Lab, Towers, Caverns, Copies) to prevent others from playing.
11Do not "throw" any team-based event. This includes suiciding on purpose in Mayhem with no flags just to stop the capture, losing on purpose, encouraging someone to lose on purpose or using alt accounts to change the outcome of an event.
12Multi-Key IS allowed but NOT allowed to participate within multiple events at the same time, along with joining events with an alt whilst your main is currently Jailed or Hakai'd or vice versa. Joining the same event with multiple accounts is NOT allowed!
13No excessive racism or discriminatory remarks. Admins have discretion to punish as they see fit.
14No improper icons. Off-centered, improperly sized, explicit, or full-body hiding icons (e.g., turf icons) are prohibited. If unsure, ask an admin before using a custom icon!
15No door/pathway camping. Do not camp entrances such as HBTC, High Strain Gravity Room, Abyss Flag Room, etc.
16Players are responsible for staying updated with rule changes. Ignorance of updated rules is not an excuse.
17Trying to find bypasses/loopholes in the rules is a bannable offence. This goes hand-in-hand with the Common Sense Rule.

20Account sharing is only permitted for AFK purposes. Actively mobbing or farming for another player is prohibited.
21Alt usage. Alts may be used for training assistance (e.g., dual training), SAME guild ownership, or inviting your main account. Alts may not be used for malicious purposes (e.g., alt killing, griefing, using multiple guild evo paths). Alts are not permitted to have Hakai. If a character has been Hakai'd or Jailed, a player is NOT allowed to play with their alt and this counts as avoiding Jail and Hakai.
22Abuse of the Universe G.o.D system such as title trading or collusion is prohibited, regardless of guild affiliation. Guild members may however challenge fellow G.o.D members through the automated open challenge system. Alt usage interaction with this system is completely prohibited.
23Common Sense Rule. Attempting to exploit loopholes, bypass rules, or abuse unintended mechanics is punishable. Staff have final authority in ambiguous situations and must provide reasoning upon request.

A training area with great gravity multipliers, located inside The Lookout. You get 2 free entries and can stay for 2 hours per entry. Recommended to Dual Train with a partner or alt to maximize your time inside.

🚀 Capsule Corp Space Pod

Used to travel to different planets. Enter and use the computer to pick a destination. 30 seconds later you will arrive outside on the new planet. The Space Pod has basic gym equipment inside.

Destinations: Planet Vegeta, Planet Glass, Planet Earth, Planet Namek, Future Earth, Planet of Divines, and Beerus Planet.
